DALGLIESH II is the second instalment in our detective series based on P.D. James’ bestselling murder mysteries.

With each book spanning two episodes, this series takes Dalgliesh first to a forensics laboratory in rural Norfolk, then to a barrister’s chambers in central London, and finally to an antiquated private museum in Hampstead. In each setting, he meets with a rich cast of imperfect and bewildering characters, untangling their tragedies with forensic precision and a quiet command of human nature.

DALGLIESH II is at once a crime story and a character study: of a man who is equal parts poet and detective, and who must confront the trauma of others while still very much in the throes of grief.

DALGLIESH II is made in association with Northern Ireland Screen.

“Bertie Carvel's spin on the detective-slash-poet is worth a watch”
The Telegraph
“This is a solid, old-school production, no bells and whistles, which these days feels hysterically radical. Sometimes it just works to have a good story plainly told”
The Guardian
