New Pictures strengthens senior team with three new hires

11 November 2024: Leading drama production company New Pictures (an All3Media Company) is strengthening its leadership team with three new hires as the company expands its slate of high-profile shows for UK and international broadcasters and streamers.

Clare Batty joins New Pictures as Head of Development. Clare previously worked in the same role at Tod Productions, where she was responsible for the producer’s development slate of shows for the broadcasters and platforms including the BBC, Channel 4, Sky, and Apple TV+ for whom she developed and co-produced the eight-part crime thriller Criminal Record. As a Development Executive at Little Chick, House Productions and Sister, Clare worked with writers and producers including Abi Morgan on hit shows including The Split.

 

Emma Parsons joins New Pictures as a Production Executive. Her previous credits include co-producing Bodies for Netflix and The Baby for HBO/Sky, and line producing Sex Education (Season 3) for Netflix, The Split (Season 2) for BBC1, and Jamestown (Season 3) for Sky.

 

Brendan Fairweather joins New Pictures as Senior Legal and Business Affairs Executive from Sister where he worked in the same role on shows such as The Power, Kaos, and Black Doves. Brendan previously held business affairs roles at Fifty Fathoms, Tiger Aspect, and Pact.

New Pictures’ growing number of critically acclaimed series includes The Long Shadow (ITV), written by George Kay and directed by Lewis Arnold; Champion (BBC 2 and Netflix) created by Candice Carty Williams, and No Escape (Paramount +) from Kris Mrska, alongside returning seasons of hit shows such as Dalgliesh (Channel 5). The company is currently in production and development on multiple projects for streamers and broadcasters worldwide including Protection (ITV) and Crongton (BBC).

 

New Pictures recently announced a multi-year exclusive partnership with George Kay, the critically acclaimed creator, writer, and showrunner behind global drama hits including Hijack (Apple TV+) and Lupin (Netflix), with his own label, Observatory Pictures, and a partnership with actor Kit Harington (Game of Thrones, Testament of Youth, Criminal) and writer Daniel West’s (Gunpowder, Top Boy) production company Thriker Films on new eight-part thriller Empire of Dirt.
